Faro is the capital of the Algarve and nearly non-touristic. Nevertheless or maybe because of that, the city is worth a visit - the beautiful old town, the small harbour and the welcoming pedestrian zone characterise the city. Also boat trips to the close by islands in the nature reserve Ria Farmosa with its deserted sandy beaches are worth a trip! Good conditions for wind and kite surfers are given at the island Ilha de Faro close to the airport. The great and modern shopping centre `Forum Algarve` (between the city centre and airport) invites everyone for the perfect shopping experience.
