The glamorous seaside resort Estoril and the neighbouring former fishing village of Cascais are said to be the best adresses in Portugal and are synonym for luxury. A 3km promenade connects Estoril with the resort of Cascais- once a small fishing village - now developed into a high-class bathing resort in the 19th century. Here, you find gorgeous mansions, elegant boutiques and many cafés and restaurants around the new marina, where you can buy fresh fish every day. Its attraction is not only the exclusive location to the Atlantic sea and the mild climate but also the close proximity to Lisbon, which is just a 30 km distance; it takes about 30 minutes to get to the Cais de Sodré in Lisbon by train: An excellent possibility to combine a city trip with a beach holiday. For surfers and boarders the beach Guincho is close by and windsurfers have the best conditions in Estoril and Cascais.
